This looks like something Ford would make for the forest service or something. Anyone know if it’s custom or factory?

For sure the wheels are from custom town. I have no idea about the body.

Well, the Ford truck of the period and the van had the same side relief and molding, so I think this is a very, very elaborate custom made from two vehicles. I think by ‘74 Ford had given up on sedan deliveries and related bodies.

Yeah that is my guess, but weird stuff comes out for government contracts. But I’ve never seen one so I also think they took parts from various Fords and did that. The tailgate script chopped in half for the barn doors. That and the wheels, if it was factory it would be owned by some old timer in Wyoming and not have custom looking wheels.

Those are dodge 20" spare wheels modified to take a dog-dish hubcap.

I had an ‘03 Ram with the 20" wheels and I thought it was awesome that the spare was also 20".

I think the wheels ruin the look, personally.

The style of the wheels would work if they had more rubber and were perhaps 18"s. These do not quite work as is.

Too low profile. Just wrong. 70-series would be right on a rim that was an inch or so oversized. These miss the mark by a fairly wide margin. The more I look, the less I like.

Did some Googling, it’s a Ford B100. Apparently it’s a product of one of Ford’s South American subsidiaries that was sold in South America and Mexico.

My God, that is dreamy AF. Maybe a Brazil grey market import? Brazil had THE BEST Ford truckthingies back in the day.

That’s what it’s based on at least. They sold the F-1000 from 1979 to 1998.

The hood on the ‘72 has always been my favorite. I drove school busses built on 1972 B600 chassis when I was seventeen.

What is the deal with Brazil?? It’s like frankenstein chop shop factory sales. Even now they make some fucked up looking stuff. It’s like Ford plays with photoshop and then build it! 70's TURBO CONVERSION VAN TRUCK W/ 80's PLASTIC GRILLE!!!!

Continuing to update an existing truck tends to be cheaper than designing a new one.
